Sherman Oaks, CA — Nov 25, 2014 / (http://www.myprgenie.com) — The 5th annual Glendale Health Festival, organized by Armenian American Medical Society, took place on November 15, 2014 at the Glendale Civic Auditorium. The festival is always free and open to the entire community.

VēNA Vascular Vein Clinic’s own Dr. Vahe Melkonyan got to participate in the festival, and he gladly answered all

the questions that the attendees had. “Our participation at the Glendale Health Festival is essential, as we strive to be active in the community and give back to its members,” he said, adding “We are very concerned about the health of the community, and this festival gives us the opportunity to interact with a large number of citizens who would otherwise be unaware of different medical conditions. During this festival, we had the chance to educate the population about venous disease, its symptoms, and treatment methods.”

Attendees of the festival got to have their blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar taken, followed by a sit-down with a physician to discuss the results. Cardiologists, neurologists, podiatrists, and other specialists were also present, in case and specific questions needed to be addressed. Dentists and eye care specialists provided dental screenings and eye exams, and even breast and cervical cancer screenings and CPR training were offered.

It wasn’t all business though; free food and entertainment were also provided, and included kids’ activities, live performances, and a healthy lunch.

Dr. Vahe Melkonyan is founding medical director of V?NA Vascular Lab and Vein Clinic. He was one of the first few diplomats of the American Board of Phlebology, committing himself to the advancement of the highest standard in vein care. He has a special interest and extensive expertise in diagnosis and treatment of venous disease and its complications. The Armenian American Medical Society (AAMS) hosted the festival in collaboration with Glendale Adventist Medical Center, Glendale Memorial Hospital and Health Center, USC Verdugo Hills Hospital, Glendale Healthy Kids, the Office of State Senator Carol Liu, Office of Supervisor Michael D. Our vascular lab staffed with certified physicians, and registered vascular technologists, facilitates the evaluation of each patient’s problem, and creates a personalized treatment plan. Instead we are trained and experienced phlebologists (vein doctors) and vein sonographers exclusively dedicated to venous disease.
